The project

Responsible growth, rooted in place.

The Mentawai Bay project seeks to transform Siberut Island, the largest of Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands, into a pioneering and sustainable tourist destination that serves as a global model. Rather than replicating existing Southeast Asian tourism models, it emphasises community prosperity, ensuring direct benefits for local inhabitants and the broader Indonesian populace. Respect for Indigenous culture is paramount, with active participation and representation of Mentawai’s native communities integrated into the development. Environmental stewardship likewise underpins every initiative, targeting carbon neutrality and compliance with the highest global sustainability standards.

Economically, the project aims to diversify revenue sources through sustainable tourism, banking and financial services, data centre infrastructure, and education. Its distinctive design will reflect a genuinely Mentawai aesthetic, avoiding imitations of other regions’ styles. Above all, experiential focus lies at the core, forging meaningful connections among communities, cultures, and individuals to create an unforgettable destination that honours its rich heritage while driving lasting growth.
